Knowledge to Action

Safety communications must drive actions to achieve the desired outcome.   Communication shall be more than information, it must be based on knowledge and provide definitive action.

Knowledge is part of a hierarchy, it is first captured as raw data to be synthesized into information.  Information has meaning, but the meaning is based on the interpretation of the user of the information.  Typically, information is presented as rules, policies, and regulations,

The goal is to promote action based on gained safety knowledge.  By using defined techniques to capture data, communicate revised information, and provide a medium for dialogue about acquired knowledge, employees will take action that protects their health and safety.
